I've tried that already. Sadly, everything I've tried has failed.
Admittedly, I haven't tried _everything_, so maybe someone else has a
better idea. The YahooGroup-Archiver repeatably gets stuck at message
number 4093.

This _is_ how we get the backup. That's the point. If someone else can
successfully back up the entire group _and_ make it available and indexable
on the web (so not merely "I have these messages in email"), then feel free
to do it and tell us that you've done it. :)
