I see sometimes near-violent reactions to pairing from devs. Management folks who object just think it's stupid, but many start to get it after hearing some of the benefits (e.g. reduced risk, more rapid ramp-up, higher quality). I always remind myself to sell a little differently depending on the audience. Everyone needs to find value personally (in addition to understanding the value for the org/team/product).
