FWIW My personal theory on the ease-of-adoption thang from my limited mobbing experiences is that team members — and management — have a couple of models for "groups of people working together on a thing". 

Meetings and workshops.

… and I’ve occasionally called mobbing a "dev meeting" or a "dev workshop" to different audiences to get them over the hump of trying something.
