Re: [extremeprogramming] Origin of term "standup"?

In my limited experience with anything remotely mob-style, I've seen a good focus on what we're doing today and maybe tomorrow, but I can imagine the need to stick our heads up out of the muck and think about how things are going for the week or two-week period.

Is there such a need?
