PhD Studentship Computing Laboratory, University of Kent, Canterbury. Applications are invited for a PhD Research Studentship starting in October 2004 (or sooner). This studentship will provide both tuition fees (at home/EU fees level) and maintenance for a period of three years, subject to satisfactory progression through each year of study. The maintenance rate for 2004/5 is 10,500 GBP per annum. The studentship forms part of a study that aims to investigate tools for profiling and visualisation of garbage-collected programming languages. The candidate should have, or expect to obtain, a good first degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. An appropriate degree at Master's level would also be acceptable. Good programming skills are essential. This project will be under the supervision of Richard Jones (http://www.cs.kent.ac.uk/~rej) in the Computing Laboratory, University of Kent, Canterbury.
