I agree that I have to be careful not to offend my readers in an attempt to
convince them of my way of thinking.  If you see places in my draft
chapters where you think I have crossed this line, please let me know.  (I
know that one person objects to my argument about web page authors seizing
control over an aspect of the viewing experience that readers should
control, but I believe that this objection is to my argument as a whole
rather than to my phrasing of it.  Currently, I'm uninclined to abandon an
argument that I believe is valid just because I think somebody might object
to it, no matter how I phrase it.)
