There should be some named law out there that says "2% of any group  
will be jerks. These will also be the loudest ones in the room."

I read through the second thread, Dan, and it seemed like there were  
really just two or three strident individuals who objected to the  
question being asked. Two or three others stepped up and said it was  
OK to ask the question, too.  The vast majority, as always, kept their  
own counsel.

Don't sweat it too much.  Be wiser, and better, than the 2%.  Remember  
the silent majority.
