And even less people would read the blog, unless it gets advertising. 
There's no need to further fragment the audience. It's the same argument 
against splitting a mailing-list into several. If I wanted to start a blog 
on a topic that fits on pragprog, I'd write my blog on pragprog. The main 
downside would be that I wouldn't have the blessing of the Web 2.0 crowd, 
but I wouldn't mind. If you know any extra people that would be interested 
in John's topics, you could make them subscribe to pragprog.
