Hi Surya,

First off, many thanks to your reply.

These are the only options for the predictor command on our serveriron;

  least-conn

  least-local-conn

  least-local-sess

  local-weighted

  response-time

  round-robin

  weighted

The "response-time" is the one close to your suggestion. But its not "least response time", which I guess means the opposite - serveriron will then select the real server with the fastest response time. That looks good for our setup. In addition, you mentioned in your email below some kind of "combo" predictor. Can I use response time plus weighted here? That is based on the above options we have on our box. If yes, can you give me sample config?

Regards,

Reynald

Do you have some kind of "least response time" of "fastest" predictor available ?

Otherwise Weighted round robin (or weighted least conn) may be a good choice if you tune the weight according to the hardware specs of the servers.

Surya

Hello,

Just trying to find what's the best predictor to use if you have a group of servers that has differect hardware specifications (e.g. processor, memory,etc.). We have a chasis serveriron here (350), and we wan't to ease the load for those lower machines that are under heavy loads. Our current predictor is set to "least local sessions" and the "Leas Session" guy looks good but unfortunately its available for stackable device only.

Appreciate your help on this guys.

Thanks and regards,

Reynald
