They are very cheap ($100-150) and very powerful, you can set up many different solution with them. Also you can give it a try on any x86 box. Here is a basic setup: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/ECMP_load_balancing_with_masquerade The main problem in my case (I have a setup similar to this:http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Load_Balancing_over_Multiple_Gateways ) is that if one of the lines fails and the system moves connection to an other line the source IP of the connections will be changed (note, this is an office network with NAT) and this can break some applications, like https webshops. I don't think there is a proper solution for this at this price range (I guess the only proper solution would be to have an own AS number and run routing protocol). I'm trying to set up VPN tunnels to a remote site and do the NAT there, but I have problem with some website (MTU), so I can't say it's a proper solution (I'm working on it). _______________________________________________ lb-l mailing list [email protected] http://vegan.net/mailman/listinfo/lb-l Searchable Archive: http://vegan.net/lb/archive http://lbdigest.com Load Balancing Digest http://lbwiki.com Load Balancing Wiki
