Why would people need 'back doors'? This is a rhetorical question. :)

People need backdoors when they do not believe their requirements will be taken seriously by the powers that be.
Sometimes they take back doors because of a hidden agenda.

I believe that people will always find a back door, regardless of processes and procedures put in place to stop them. Rather keep the front door wide open, because at least you will then KNOW about all these back door stuff.
