I think you've discovered why the standard definition of OO development is
so skewed.

What if we presented the following to the 1984 agilers:

1. OO technology allows us to better manage the coupling between modules by=

formalizing the old technique of using jump tables in data structures.

2. Using OO language, we can avoid the clumsy and dangerous use of pointers=

to functions in order to break critical dependencies.  The ease and safety
of the decoupling techniques mean that we can apply them throughout our cod=
e
instead of just in critical areas.

3. The wholesale use of these decoupling techniques throughout every module=

in our systems will allow us to more easily modify our code, and will
greatly enhance our ability to refactor.

4. The decoupling tools will also make it much easier to test modules
independently of each other allowing us to write much more granular unit
tests.
