Almost no pointers (was: Pragmatic Requirements Summary : update)

I know this philosophy. I doesn't sound right. Nothing in the 
language should be ugly.

Before I was asked for an example of pointers getting in the way: 
polymorphic arrays in Ada must be implemented with pointers. This is 
one of the things I hope Pragmatic will avoid.

To me it's clear Pragmatic should allow pointers. I proposed the 
following as a way to keep it simple but elegant (not ugly).

Address values are implementation-dependent.

Any addressable entity has an address_of method.

A function exists that accepts an address and returns the value 
addressed. An error is indicated if the address is not valid.

There is a stronger model than this that I can expound if required.
