 Becuase in general we want one language in which we can do both low level and 
high level work. Even when you are doing low-level work it would be nice to work in 
a hll in those areas of the application that don't need direct access to memory or 
other low level features.

 For the most part, unless they are doing low level work where they need access 
to pointers, developers shouldn't need to worry about them in Pragmatic as well. 
For the same reasons we have discussed before.

 We are trying to break new ground. Think of python that can be nativly compiled 
and have direct access to hardware or perhaps a C the default features of an HLL 
and allot of the power of lisp. These analogies aren't quite right, especially 
considering some of the other things we are interested in, but they may give you a 
feel for the direction we are tring to go. 
 
Btw, if you have ideas on how to allow both styles of memory management we are 
very willing to discuss them.
