...and I didn't claim it did.

It answers the question of "how do I decouple this legacy code so I
can write a test?".  It is not a tutorial on writing unit tests.

There are plenty of places online where you can learn how to write
unit tests.  You could do worse than to watch Zhon Johansen's course
on TDD that I helped him give at Agile Roots 2009:
