Regarding command vs. persuade.
There are some people who can never be persuaded. Commanding them is
unlikely to work as well.
Sometimes getting a culture change to stick involves firing some people.
Remember we're in the software business because we want to make money
at it. The best way to make money is to have a team that supports
each other. Don't be afraid to fire bad apples.
