i have studied several papers on refactoring and found it really helpful in improving quality,
will to study its behaviour or affects or reusability,can u please help me out in this regard
any research paper abt it.

You might want to look at the idea of refactoring thumbnails

These use informal diagrams representing classes and the features of
interest to plan and communicate refactoring ideas. You still have to
work out the specifics in your code. See "Pull Up Feature" for
example.
