I have had the opportunity to discuss things like mob programming and no
estimates face-to-face with Woody. I know why he did what he did and why he
didn’t do other things, because he explained it to me. He didn’t just add
mob programming because he didn’t like pair programming. He did it as an
experiment and it was so successful that they never looked back. He didn’t
just throw away estimates because he hates them. He carefully studied the
impact they were (not) having, and did experiments with doing something
more Kanban like. It is all very deliberate and guided by Agile principles.
That is what matters.
