Hello Michael, In line with what Srinivas and Alexander say - I would say that your colleague ought to arrange to take the QA manager to visit as many teams as possible - either within the company or outside and show him half-a-dozen teams - who can demonstrate how they do dev + test within a sprint. Seeing it being done by multiple teams will be what will make him re-consider, IMHO. Everything else may be just pre-disposition, speculation & conjecture on the QA manager's part. Somehow this quote by Upton Sinclair also comes to mind: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” Am curious what happens to/for the QA manager - if dev + qa within a sprint does work? What part/s of the SCARF model does it upend for him? Good Luck to your colleague on his quest....... With Best Regards Shyam
