RE: [TFUI] Re: What's wrong with Struts?

I must be honest: I lean heavily on the Struts WYSIWYG editor provided by
MyEclipseIDE. Since I'm on a gov't contract, I may be prevented from
continuing to do so, though I intend to make a pitch for a waiver on this
product (yes, I have to make a presentation to bureaucrats, explaining why I
need this tool and no other. $ is not the obstacle, "security" is. Since I
can't fight a battle on every front, I have to decide whether I want this
more than I want to install Tomcat locally so that I'm not running Cactus
test cases on a remote server. Forget about Jetty...). In any case, I'm
still developing a TDD regimen on this platform, so that my tests really do
come first. The examples in Vincent Massol's and J. B. Rainsberger's books
are useful, but I had to force myself to reverse engineer them before I
really understood them. Likewise, one might use James Robertson's Struts
Console (see http://www.jamesholmes.com/struts/console/). As Phlip said, the
amount one has to know about the platform in order to test first seems like
a smell in and of itself. In order to design even a single Action, I really
have to have a pretty good understanding of struts-config.xml (i.e., I have
to know what the WYSIWYG editor is really doing!). This just does not seem
like MVC to me.
