Mice already do soft things, such as tooltips, at hover time. The
distinction should be between soft inputs and inputs that commit
decisions.

The problem with Lazy Mouse is some people like it, bond with it, and
leave it turned on when you pair with them.

Then your own habits leave you skating the mouse away from areas you
need to read, and this deselects them.

Our industry is full of bad usability decisions too entrenched to give
up. The majority of my tooltip events happen when something has
scrolled under the mouse, the mouse displays a huge tooltip about this
thing, and blocks whatever I was looking at.

Don't tell whoever wrote that website that eye motion tracking
hardware is available for GUIs.
