This question is better asked on the fitnesse mailing list, not this one.
The fit-dev mailing list is for the further development of the core
FIT package, and has only a loose relationship with FitNesse.

However, two answer your question, they serve two rather
different needs. The program named in TestRunner is used
to invoke FIT. Virtual Wiki is used to allow the same Wiki
data base to be used by a number of developers, each with
their own sandbox.

Hi,

Is fitnesse.TestRunner  a substitute for Virtual Wiki  or vice-versa.
Both seem to serve the same need.
Both help a developer in running the fixture classes(on developer side) with
the Fit table (on the client side).
