SCons checkpoint release 1.1.0.d20081104 has been released and is now

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE

This checkpoint provides early access to fixes and other improvements,
including fixes for all known problems running SCons under Python 2.6.

IMPORTANT:  Python versions prior to 2.2 are supported by SCons 1.1.0,
but are officially deprecated and will generate a disableable warning
message.  We plan to remove support for these older versions in SCons 2.0.
If removing this support would cause a problem for you, please contact
the [email protected] mailing list.

Here is a summary of all changes since the 1.1.0 release:


NEW FUNCTIONALITY

- TeX supports added $EPSTOPDF, $EPSTOPDFFLAGS and $EPSTOPDFCOM constructio=
n
  variables.
- SCons can now generate a .pdf file from a .eps source.

CHANGED/ENHANCED EXISTING FUNCTIONALITY

- GetBuildFailures() is now more robust.
- SCons now recognizes Java inner classes declared within a method.
- TeX support now scans directories specified in both the $TEXINPUTS
  construction variable and the $TEXINPUTS environment variable.
- The PDF() and PostScript() Builders now recognize that lists of
  multiple source files generate a list of corresponding target files.
- .tex is now a valid extension for PDF() builder input.
- Input TeX files are now scanned recursively for additional dependencies.
- TeX support now recognizes \input, \include and \includegraphics.
- The -f option can now be used to specify an alternate file name to
  be searched when walking up directories with the -D, -U or -u options.

FIXES

- Using env.Append() and env.Prepend() on list-like variables like
  $CCFLAGS are now handled correctly when run under Python 2.6.
- The ifort (Intel Fortran) tool now use $FORTRANMODDIRPREFIX correctly.
- The Action() function now handles positional parameters consistently.
- VariantDir() no longer throws an exception when the variant directory
  doesn't exist and the -n option is used.
- The --debug=3Dincludes option no longer throws an exception when a
  static or shared library is specified as a command-line target

IMPROVEMENTS

- The internal find_file() function (used for searching CPPPATH, LIBPATH,
  has been sped up.
