Running tests on shared filestore

This is just me venting, but…

Trying to develop stuff and testing on Debian, Fedora, and OSX/MacOS,
is best done by working on one machine and then having two other
machines share the first one's filestore. Now Debian can NFS from
Fedora or vice versa, but OSX/MacOS appears to have to use SMB/Samba. I
am sure there used to be an NFS option, but SMB seems to be all that is
offered.

So why is this a problem?

Lots of the SCons tests end up using shutil.copytree which works fine
over NFS but causes a shutil.Error over SMB. This is so annoying, and
breaks a sane development workflow. Grrrr…
