From discussion on this list I realize that is not chosen standard for dhtml
anygui. You wonder about two alternatives: UIML and XUL (am I wrong?). What
do you think about SVG?
I've read on slashdot, that SVG is become W3C proposed (yet)recommendations.

http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/Overview.htm8
"SVG is a language for describing two-dimensional graphics in XML. SVG
allows for three types of graphic objects: vector graphic shapes (e.g.,
paths consisting of straight lines and curves), images and text."

Certainly it is not very popular standard yet. On
http://xml.com/pub/a/2001/11/21/svgtools.html (slightly oldish) is written
that 3 browsers was working on support for SVG: Mozilla, Amaya and X-smiles.

I dont know, if this standard could be linked to widget-based anygui
architecture.
I dont know more about SVG and I am too weak to participate in further
discussion about this subject, but I am interested if in your opinions SVG
is worth considering.
