Before we decide anything on the menu API, I think we should seriously consider (which we have discussed in the past) using an Action class, which would tie in with the menu API in a fundamental way. I've used it in Java Swing and I'm currently using it in Qt -- it seems like a good abstraction to me, and it combines many features such as menu text, status bar text, tooltip text, icon (for toolbars), etc. (And, yes, we could perhaps combine it with an undo system eventually... ;) The menu system isn't all that pressing, as the coming release (the first (or 'zeroth') alpha) won't have support for menus... I just though't I'd mention it again (mainly because I bumped into QAction :) -- Magnus Lie Hetland http://hetland.org ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com
