I have sort of a similar situation with PyCrust, which is written
using wxPython. I've got a separate SourceForge project for it,
including CVS. But Robin Dunn wanted to include PyCrust in the
wxPython distribution, so he synchronizes the PyCrust CVS with the
wxPython CVS when he is going to do another wxPython release. It works
well, and I could see something similar happening with a wxPython
anygui backend.

That said, the real issue is that somone (or some group) needs to
maintain the wxPython backend, regardless of how it gets
distributed. As much as I'd like to help, I haven't had the time or
energy to contribute much myself. And I don't really see how moving
the code over to the wxPython CVS repository changes things
significantly in this regard. It would also lock the wxPython anygui
backend into the wxPython release schedule, which would probably not
be a good match during the infancy stage (assuming the pace of
development picks up).

+0 (unless I'm not understanding the issue correctly)
