We might have some sinergy here... I now also own a Mac (the first in my life, 
a 12" iBook G4 w/Panther) and am itching to try my hand at some MacOS X
development.  I have no dev't experience there, yet, though PyObjC looks 
yummy.  I have also installed the GPL version of the latest Mac Qt (a toolkit 
with which I do have experience, but not in the latest version and only on 
Linux and Windows) -- PyQt still had some teething trouble on the Mac last 
time I tried it (about 3 weeks ago), but it might be OK now, so that could be
an alternative, too.  "Pair programming" (albeit not side by side, but at a 
distance:-) might provide me with just the right amount of incentive to 
squeeze this project into my overflowing schedule...
