Maybe ctypes/msw should be left out for now, too? In that case we're
left with wx, qt, tk and java. Maybe not such a bad selection? tk, qt
and wx work on most platforms, anyway, so one of our main
contributions would (as mentioned) be to present a very simple API, as
well as covering java (which is *not* covered by the others).

It's a pity, as mswgui seems to be working rather well, but I guess we
need to be realistic if there is to be any hope of not just stranding
again.

Matt: What would you like to work with if we leave msw out of the
equation (given the distribution of other people)?
