Interim release?

What the heck -- why don't we just release?

So things don't work perfectly... But if we can recommend that people
try out the CVS version, why not give it to them as a release,
available through the standard download channels at SourceForge and so
forth? It might even induce a few more people to have a look and
report bugs they find...

In any case, it doesn't cost us (or me) much. In order to avoid
getting this mixed up with planned releases, I suggest we call it an
"interim release" (possibly the first of several) and number it with
the release date, e.g. Anygui interim release 20040410 (or
anygui-20040410.tar.gz). The release notes would be quite clear about
the nature of the release, of course.

By making rpms and Windows binary installers and the like, this would
at least make the code more available for fooling around :)
