Agreed - default tkinter looks horrible. For instance, the default grey background and bold text for fields - a graphic design abortion! The beauty of Tkinter is that it's accessed through python classes. So all you have to do is write a subclass once for each of the widget classes you use, and all the ugliness goes away.
