Just a heads up for anybody testing or working with "next", I've merged jbq@ and my "unicode" branch into "next" for the upcoming v2.2 This currently results in 36 test failures, mostly from src/Tests/SyntaxAndOutput.py where the compiler is now returning unicode() objects instead of str() objects and the tests are getting confused. I'll be working this weekend on resolving the test failures and making sure none of them are valid. This marks a *large* milestone for Cheetah, inside of the Cheetah compiler and parser now, all strings are treated as Unicode objects and are encoded on a need-to-encode basis. This resolves a few long standing issues with Unicode support and Cheetah and should help modernize the Cheetah codebase as Python moves in this direction in the future. Many thanks to jbq@ for all his work with these changes, v2.2 is going to rock :) Cheers -- -R.
