Hi Juha, Tyler and other Cheetah users reading this,
I am currently in Bolivia on an extended South American vacation and have 
only been following work emails since I left.  I will be back at the end 
of May.  I apologize for not announcing my absence on the Cheetah list 
prior to disappeering for so long.  I've just briefly read through some 
of the recent messages on the list.

Juha, thanks for taking the effort to contact me via work.

Tyler, I appreciate and support your efforts to keep Cheetah development 
going in my absence.  Cheetah certainly needs 'a house keeper' until I get 
back and long term I think it needs some fresh blood driving the project. 
Thank you for stepping up.  Don't worry about it being 'my pet project': I 
don't view it as such and hope its usefulness outlives my personal 
involvement.  I've been too busy with other projects, work and travel to 
give Cheetah the attention it needs for some time and, thus, have no 
objections if you want to take the reins.  I prefer this to a fork or a 
dead project.

I also support your efforts to get either an unofficial or official v2.1 
out the door.  I think it should be an official release.  My only concern 
is that I noticed an issue in your 'import' patch that would break 
backwards compat.  I haven't had time to read through all the  messages 
since then so someone has probably already spotted and corrected that 
issue.  Given the possibility of other backwards compat. issues I propose 
that v2.1 be labeled beta until I get back from this trip and have time to 
help find any issues.

Does this sound reasonable?  If so please send me a direct email to 
[email protected] without the list address in the cc field, as anything 
with the list address gets filtered into my Cheetah folder, which I 
obviously haven't been checking recently.
