It will be merged down likely this weekend if the testing goes well. (top posting on my phone, sorry) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 14:49 To: R. Cheetah v2.2.0rc1 When will this go in the main branch that comes in git pull thanks On Wed, May 13, 2009 at 11:13 AM, R. Tyler Ballance <[email protected]> wrote: Woohoo! It's that time of the month again, Cheetah release time! Woohoo, yeaaah! Ahem. Anyways, this release is quite a substantial one insofar that it changes the compiler such that strings read in by the compiler are now all unicode() objects. This has far reaching effects because the *output* of the compiler will be a unicode() object (unless you specify #encoding in which case the output will be a string encoded as such). THe full CHANGES listing since the last major release (v2.1.1) of Cheetah is as follows: - Switch all internal representations of template code to unicode objects instead of str() objects - Convert unicode compiled template to an utf8 char buffer when writing to a file (Jean-Baptiste Quenot <[email protected]>) - 0000011: [Templates] Calling a function with arguments calls the function with None (rtyler) - 0000015: [Tests] Resolve test failures in 'next' branch (rtyler) - 0000006: [Templates] Support @staticmethod and @classmethod (rtyler) (numbers correlate to Mantis issue numbers) You can grab the RC here: http://github.com/rtyler/cheetah/tarball/v2.2.0rc1 http://github.com/rtyler/cheetah/zipball/v2.2.0rc1 I'm planning on releasing v2.2.0 final either this weekend or early next week depending on any problems that arise out of testing. If you're curious as to what's "next" for Cheetah, you can check out the Roadmap for v2.2.1 in Mantis: http://bugs.communitycheetah.org/roadmap_page.php?version_id=6 If you find any issues, please reply to this thread, or file a ticket here: http://bugs.communitycheetah.org/bug_report_page.php Happy testing :) Cheers -- -R.
