the deadlines fall just a few weeks after the PyCon one,
so it's hard to keep up.  i intend on filing for a paper
expanding on one of my PyCon talks and perhaps a pair
of tutorials but am not sure i can give the best proposals
by this weekend's deadline.  still i'll give it a shot.
