argh, mozilla was killing my cpu, and I think I read the output to openssl
wrong. The actual numbers are 3.7 and 4.5 megs/sec, respectively, although
that second one is operating on much smaller blocks and hence has much
more overhead. It isn't as bad as I thought, but Python's sha1 could still
definitely be made faster, at least on my machine.
