S/MIME v3

Dear list,

I am a newbie in the field and new subscriber to the list so sorry in
advance for the stupid questions...

I would need to send an S/MIME V3 signed message.
It seems that the URL below explains the procedure for S/MIME V2.

Any update/pointers on how this can be done in S/MIME V3 would be
greatly appreciated.
