Hi Suraj - thanks for the reply.  The last ODPI debug message being printed
was

    ODPI [84562] 2021-05-03 17:04:34.197: fn start
dpiStmt_execute(0x563b2b78a050)

Namely the client hangs at cursor.execute().  FYI per Anthony's suggestion
I've filed https://github.com/oracle/python-cx_Oracle/issues/559, with more
detailed info included.
