As a user of psycopg2 within the GNUmed project I can attest
to that this adapter is actively maintained and patches are
both accepted and quickly merged.

I can reassure you it is a good idea to work with the
PostgreSQL folks so that psycopg2 is strongly considered for
the "blessed" Python adapter.
