I fetched your code and I wanted to merge it in a temporary branch to do
some tests and analisys but I am getting:

1) lots of merge conflicts
2) lots of spurious whitespace

Can I ask you to rebase onto 2.2.0 (or 2.2.1 to be released tonight to
fix win32 build problems)? I know that continuosly rebasing a public
repository isn't the best but will make the integration work much easier
if we get at that.
