Hi,

I think this is the wrong list for this question. Go to the Postgres
lists. (Not that I'm not willing to help). It looks to me as a real
Postgres problem. Tuning of a database is a very specialized field, and
turning some knobs on the database sometimes drastically improves (or
deteriorates) performance.
