Are there any issues dropping in the latest SQLite DLL into my Python installation?

I checked the archives and didn't see anything about this.  And the
pysqlite website seems to be experiencing some sort of failure that I
was partly able to bypass using Google's archived pages so no looking at
the Wiki right now.

I noticed that the released pysqlite is several versions behind relative
to the bugfixes provided by the latest 3.3.8 DLL on Windows.  Will I be
banishing myself to the 664th level of incompatibility hell by just
dropping in the latest DLL into my Python DLLs folder?  I'm using Python
2.4 and 2.5 for development work and just getting up to speed with
(py)sqlite.
