You should receive an email asking you to join the group requiring you
to take some action to join.  (The interface does allow for just
directly adding people but that is what spammers do!)

Consequently you can just go ahead and add yourself without waiting for
the invitation.  You haven't missed anything yet except the announcement
of APSW 3.6.19 which now includes an awesome shell :-)
