You can use <form:iferror name="something"> and <form:iferror name="not 
something">.  Maybe a special case of name="*" should be allowed for 
this.  I'm still sorting out getting a new computer setup when my old 
one broke, and I don't have my editing environment really setup, but a 
patch would be accepted (some change to the handle_iferror method).
