12 stdlib corner cases, verified on CPython 3.11.6

Hi all,

I've spent the last weeks running small experiments on CPython 3.11.6, checking behaviors that get repeated about the standard library. Twelve of them held up (or surprised me) enough to write up with receipts:

Three from the set:

- glob('**') silently behaves like '*' unless recursive=True. No error, just fewer results than expected.
- NamedTemporaryFile(delete=True) unlinks the file on close (so you can't reopen it by name); mkstemp() leaves it. And tempfile.gettempdir() snapshots TMPDIR on first use.
- argparse: '--flag False' turns the flag ON ('False' is a non-empty string), and exit_on_error=False only covers bad values, not unrecognized arguments.

Everything ran on 3.11.6, versions noted where they matter. Curious where 3.12+ differs, and where I've got something wrong.
