indicate object with square

Hallo,

can anybody halp me with the follow;

ik have a gryscale image with round objectsin it. I have written a program
to detect this objects. (this objects are 10x10 pixel big) then i calculate
the average pixelvalue of these objects.  Some of the objects can't be found
automatically. so, i want that the usser of the program could be able
to indicate these objects.
i was thinking about that the user has a square on his mouse and can
indicate the object.

Is this possible?
