JPEG: colors less shiny?

Hi List,

I use PIL and Reportlab to procude PDFs containing images. When I 
convert the images to jpeg before adding them to the Pdf the colors seem 
to be less shiny (and the PDFs smaller - which is why i convert them). 
Any ideas?
