[python-advocacy] Is there a python IDE needed?

I'm quite impressed by the performance of JDT in eclipce platform. I
think eclipse is fit for building an IDE of python. Because it can
save a lot of time do with some basic features. I would only pay
attention on features in python.

I've been using python in my research works for months. I tried many
IDEs including Eric3, Wing, Komodo, pydev and even Emacs. Wing IDE did
very well in the python related features rather than some others just
implement basic features that common IDEs have.

And then, I got into the source code of pydev to see if I can do
something with pydev. But I think the design of pydev is difficult to
understand. Pydev didn't get the power of python everywhere. So I just
want to start an IDE of python on eclipse platform.

I guess it may be a heavy project. And I have almost no experience in
collaborating with open source community. So I would have some paid
developers working on that.

I just want to know weather this project could make money. Or almost
all the python fans wouldn't pay money on tools?
