It can't hurt much to ask him informally.  Coming at him with a big formal
presentation out of the blue seems off-putting.  The question initially is
just whether there's any chance politically and technically that Sun would
use Python as the official Java scripting language, and if so what would
be needed to make that possible.  You may not get anywhere but it won't
hurt if you don't.
