Form based user authentication

Hello I'm struggling to implement form based user authentication using mod_python 3.3.1 and fedora core 10. I've managed to setup basic authentication which pops up an ugly browser box, however I would prefer a redirect to a login html form. Is there any examples showing how to setup form based authentication?
